Prague based digital asset powerhouse RockawayX is doubling down on the cryptocurrency market, seeking 150 million dollars for a new liquid opportunities fund. This strategic push comes on the heels of the firm’s acquisition of Relayer Capital, a specialized crypto hedge fund. Viktor Fischer, the founder and CEO of RockawayX, which currently manages roughly 2 billion dollars, plans to have former CoinFund partner Austin Barack lead the new vehicle. The fund will specifically target undervalued tokens and equities related to the blockchain space.

While some of the industry’s biggest names like Paradigm and Framework Ventures have been diversifying into artificial intelligence and robotics lately, RockawayX seems intent on deepening its roots in pure crypto plays. Much of this confidence likely stems from Relayer Capital’s impressive track record. By betting big on high performers like Hyperliquid and Venice AI, Relayer managed returns of approximately 70 percent this year, comfortably beating out major assets like Bitcoin and Ether. Those specific bets proved lucrative, with Venice AI seeing an explosive rise in value throughout the year.

This move marks another chapter in RockawayX’s effort to expand beyond standard venture capital investments. Earlier this year, the firm branched out into managing noncustodial smart contract vaults for yield generating strategies, attracting over 200 million dollars in deposits shortly after launch. It shows a clear appetite for diversification within the ecosystem even as the firm navigates significant legal turbulence behind the scenes.

Despite these growth milestones, RockawayX remains entangled in a messy legal battle involving Solmate, a Solana treasury company. Following a collapsed merger attempt, both parties have filed lawsuits in New York state court trading accusations of fraud and misconduct. While Solmate claims it was misled by fraudulent financial statements during acquisition talks, RockawayX has dismissed these allegations as mere retaliation. As those courtroom battles continue to unfold, Fischer appears focused on scaling his empire through aggressive new fundraising and acquisitions.
