Apple working to fix alarming iPhone issue – Samsung takes jab on social platforms

Apple Working to Fix iPhone Alarm Issue

Apple has acknowledged and is working to fix a bug that has caused some iPhone alarms to fail to go off, leaving users frustrated and potentially late for important appointments.

The issue was brought to light by several TikTok users who reported missing their alarms for multiple days in a row. One user, Reid Manning, shared his experience, stating, “This has probably been the third or fourth day in a row that my alarm clock has not gone off.” It is unclear how many people have been affected by the bug.

There is currently no confirmation on whether the bug is limited to specific iPhone models or a certain version of the iOS software. However, according to Sky News, some users have reported success in regaining their alarm sounds by turning off the phone’s “attention aware” feature. This feature lowers the volume of alerts if the user is looking at the device.

Apple has stated that they are aware of the issue and are actively working to resolve it. In the meantime, iPhone users are encouraged to double-check their alarm settings and ensure that the volume is turned up before going to bed.

The bug has caused frustration for many users, including TikTok user Alyssa Sarracco, who missed classes after taking a nap despite setting five alarms. In a video that has gained over 3.7 million views, Sarracco exclaimed, “This is not me, I am not the problem here.”

Rival company Samsung UK took the opportunity to poke fun at the issue by posting a video on Instagram and TikTok. The video showed a sausage dog appearing to DJ with the caption, “Rest assured, our alarms GO OFF.” One Instagram user commented, “But now I actually have to show up to work.”

For those who wish to turn off the “attention aware” feature, Apple recommends going to iPhone settings, tapping ‘Face ID & Passcode’, and scrolling down to find ‘Attention Aware features’. This feature is only available on iPhone X or newer devices and iPad Pro 11-inch or iPad Pro 12.9-inch.

As Apple works to resolve the issue, iPhone users are advised to keep an eye on their alarms and make sure they are functioning properly.
