The average monthly search volume over a 12 month period was analyzed to determine the most anticipated festivals of 2024

A new study has revealed the festivals Americans are searching for the most in 2024 – Coachella takes the top spot.

Bonus code experts NoDeposit365.com analyzed the average monthly search volume in the US over the past 12 months of various well-known festivals from around the world. The terms examined include ‘[festival] lineup’, ‘[festival] 2024’, and ‘[festival] resale’.

In first place, being crowned America’s most anticipated festival, is Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival – more commonly known as ‘Coachella’.

The Californian festival witnesses a staggering average of 799,723 searches a month. The iconic Coachella has been running since 1999 and takes place over two weekends in April.

Burning Man is in second place, with an average of 518,729 searches a month; the unique week-long festival happens annually in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, where festival goers temporarily build ‘Black Rock City’.

Organizers insist this is not a festival but rather an ‘experiment in temporary community guided by 10 principles of our culture’.

Lollapalooza is the third most anticipated festival in America, with 391,135 average monthly searches.

The three-day festival has been around since 1991 and is now permanently held in Chicago, with alternative rock, heavy metal, punk, hip-hop, and electronic dance lineups.

Tomorrowland accumulates 317,321 average monthly searches, placing it fourth in the ranking.

Tomorrowland has been held in Belgium since 2005, making it the first festival in the ranking to take place outside of America. The spectacular and psychedelic stages host electronic, dance, pop, hip-hop, and EDM artists.

In fifth place is Rolling Loud, which sees an average of 313,704 monthly searches.

Rolling Loud is an international festival held in the US, Asia, Europe, South America, and Australia each year; the hip-hop festival was founded in 2015 and is now one of the biggest in the world.

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival places sixth in the ranking, with 210,659 average monthly searches.

The annual four-day festival has been held in Tennessee since 2002, typically in June. Music at the festival ranges from rock, jazz, folk, and country to pop, reggae, hip-hop, and electronic.

In seventh place is the music festival Outside Lands, held annually in San Francisco. The multi-genre festival accumulates 124,713 monthly searches on average and was founded in 2008.

Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival witnesses 115,916 searches on average per month, placing it eighth in the ranking.

The festival takes place in Texas for two consecutive weekends in October, celebrating rock, indie, country, electronic, and hip-hop artists.

Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly known as ‘EDC’, is in ninth place, with an average of 92,066 monthly searches.

EDC is an electronic dance music festival whose flagship event has been held in Las Vegas every May since 1991 – it now also runs in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Japan, India, and the UK.

Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, also known as Glastonbury Festival, lands in tenth place with an average of 65,009 monthly searches.

The five-day festival has been held in summers since 1970 and has ingrained itself into British culture, drawing inspiration from hippie and free-festival movements.

Olivia King, spokesperson for NoDeposit365.com, has commented on the findings: “Festivals are well-loved and anticipated all over the world, with many people returning to their favorites every year. Whether they are music, arts, heritage, literature, food – they are so important to people.

“They create a sense of community and cultural identity; festivals are a place where no matter who you are or where you are from, everyone feels accepted and is free to be themselves and have fun. It is great to see festivals still bringing people together in 2024, given the incredibly high search volumes in this study.”

Methodology

Google Keyword Planner was used to obtain the search volumes of the following terms/festivals in the US. First, a seed list of initial search terms was established based on the most popular festivals.

Then the monthly average search volume for each term was taken from Google Keyword Planner, also analyzing different combinations of the terms (listed below) to collect as much search volume data for each festival as possible.

These final figures were used to sort the festivals into the final ranking.
